The hot mill
cotton canvas glove is double layered and manufactured in a variety
of styles, weights, and cuffs to provide extra protection in general
purpose and moderate heat work environments. These gloves are long
lasting and washable, making them reusable in many high temperature
manufacturing and industrial applications, such as, foundries, steel
mills, glass manufacturers, and metal forging.
Hot mill heat
resistant gloves are manufactured with the clute pattern which
refers to gloves with the seams closer to the working area on the
back along every finger and the thumb without a seam at the base of
the fingers. This pattern provides a more comfortable fit with
greater ease of movement.
The hot mill and
double palm cotton fabric is napped, which refers to the pulling of
fibers from the base weave to create a raised, fuzzy or napped
surface. Nap-In or Nap-Out refer to the direction the napped surface
faces. Nap-Out is most popular with high heat applications,
while Nap-In is often used where abrasion resistance is a higher
priority.
Heat resistant
gloves are available with a wing thumb or straight thumb. Wing
thumb is manufactured with the thumb angled diagonally across the
palm to improve comfort and natural movement. The straight thumb is manufactured with the thumb lying straight with
the index finger and is good for gripping.
Choose from a knit
wrist, band top or gauntlet cuff. The knit wrist provides a
snug fit to keep debris from falling into the glove. The 2 1/2" band
top or safety cuff provides additional heat resistance at the wrist
and lower arm. The 4 1/2" gauntlet cuff provides even more
heat, flame and spark protection.
And for another
level of heat resistant protection, the hot mill glove is also
available manufactured with a burlap lining.
