Unsupported gloves are made from natural and synthetic materials, including latex, rubber, nitrile, and neoprene. Disposable latex, nitrile, and polyethylene gloves are also types of unsupported gloves that are very popular in food service, laboratory, medical, and industrial applications.

Unsupported gloves are available unlined or flock lined. Flock lining adds comfort, makes the gloves easier to put on and take off, and absorbs perspiration inside the glove. The flock lining is comprised of very short cotton fibers, which are significantly more comfortable than latex or neoprene.
